IN-FLIGHT REFUELING - RAFALE MARINE

 IN-FLIGHT REFUELING - RAFALE MARINE

I am always amazed by in-flight refueling. Seeing all those combat planes (or bombers) being refueled one by one like little birds...

But in fact, refueling is the most difficult maneuvering in the aviation!
The tanker airplane (a KC-10, a C-135FR, etc...) is called a "nounou".
Inside a man (or a woman, see the amazing blog of powpow22, a boomer at the US Airforce click here).... called a "boomer" will guide the pilot (always on the left of the hose fuel).
600kg of Kerosene/minute will be transferred...
If you are not careful, the basket (the end of the hose fuel), can ruin your cockpit!!! Or you can damage or break the basket as well.
Imagine during night time...
Congrats to all those amazing fighter pilots and the men/women around...

Enjoy...
