HERITAGE DAYS : INITIATIONS FLIGHT (SAFRAN AEROSPACE MUSEUM) 

19 AND 20 SEPTEMBER 2015

The Aviation and Space Museum Safran participates in the Heritage Days on 19 and 20 September 2015. 

the Museum proposes piloting helicopters simulations and workshops for children throughout the week- end.

The Museum presents its unique collection of over 100 aircraft engines, rockets and helicopters, most of which have been restored by the Association of Friends of the Museum Safran (motors aircraft) or by old MS (rocket motors). In the halls of the museum, you will discover the airplane "Mirage III C" and the helicopter " Alouette II "on board which visitors will be photographed.

1. Gets its name from the famous Rosetta stone that led to the deciphering of Egyptian hieroglyphics almost 200 years ago

2. Will help scientists unlock the mysteries of the oldest building blocks of our Solar System – the comets

3. Changed target: its original target was comet 46P/Wirtanen, but after postponement of the initial launch a new one was found: Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko

4. Was launched on 2 March 2004 and travelled 10 years to reach its rendezvous point Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko

Once upon a time, a Beauty was created
She was the most beautiful of its kind on Earth
The Beauty had wings a shape no one had ever seen,
So She could fly faster than most...

Her voice was like thunder, hypnotic, mesmerizing,
Only over the Sea, she shared her secret
Sailors, have you heard her,
Offering new knowledge about the world ?

People sat and waited for hours to see her, hear her, feel her,

UK ISS PASS DETAIL FOR OCTOBRE 2014

"The International Space Station (ISS) is back over UK skies with some great evening passes during October 2014. Watch out for this bright delight in the autumn skies.

The ISS is the largest Space Station/ laboratory ever built, it can be spotted with the naked eye at certain times as it orbits Earth at 17500mph at an altitude of roughly 200 miles.
Spotting the station is very easy and you don't need any special equipment. You only need your eyes!"
