Sometimes when your lips become painfully dry, it may lead to a not very nice looking red patches at the corner of the lips. And even if you apply a lip balm, it does not disappear at all and may even worsened. This condition has a name : an angular cheilitis or angular stomatitis.


Angular because it is at the corner of your mouth and cheilitis for the inflammation.
I can see lots of people with it and it urges me to go and let them know, but...for the obvious reason, I don't do it;)
It is terribly common and no, you cannot contaminate others people with it..., Yes, you can still kiss your beloved ...
It may comes from a variety of situation, but the occurring one is a deficiency in minerals and vitamins especially with people following a poor diet or strict vegan.
You have to adopt the following measure : do not use a lip balm ANYMORE, you will spread the inflammation even more through your baton.
On a daily basis, try to use this balm (see my Cockpit Bazaar about it HERE).

I am a very strange woman.
I never have vomited in my whole life.
I had fever 3 times only in my whole life too.
I never had otitis.
I never ever had flu.
I don't have any iron...

I just had chickenpox.
When all my friends during winter times stayed at home one after the other for sickness, I was always standing like an oak or maybe with my eyesight of 12/10 like a sentinel (see "the day the Earth stood still), trying to catch it too...
But no worries, I have lots of troubles as well and one in particular : painfully sore and dry lips.
You may think "Oh la la, it's nothing to have dry lips".
No, it is absolutely not.
Because sometimes, I cannot even properly open my mouth to eat.
Because sometimes, my lips are so red that I look like a clown.
In some crisis, I have what we call an "angular cheilitis".
It is where you lips are cracked open with sometimes a little bit of blood at the corner of your lips.
It is then so inflamed, that it looks like I have put too many RED lipstick at the corner of my mouth which looks, heuuuuu.
You may suffer from this as well...

Always glamour....Especially when you ask tower for permission to enter the runway and takeoff...
To follow my pink mood after the "you-know-what", I was looking for a lovely pinky note lippy.
To be honest, I am not a believer of real pink lipstick. I think they look tacky and having a real pale complexion the same as Anne d'Autriche, it's a no-no for me. But I thought to myself that maybe, somewhere in the Universe...who knows?

I think that we could go for an endless checklist regarding our skin.
Serum, cream, eye cream, bb cream, cc cream, dd cream, primer, foundation, light foundation, shall I continue ? We can enormously thanked the advertising team behind Beauty market which knows perfectly well how to create a NEED we never had before they created it...
So, now that you have a multiple layer of cream and make up on your face, how do you manage to remove it then?

With a milk, a lotion, an oil, a soap, a tonic, nothing ? 
My skin is very white and fine. Very dry, reactive and sensitive, prone to redness. A real bliss... 
Imagine a kiss with a men no shaved, it's not possible for me... Ok, it is, but everyone will notice it afterward ;)
For example, I cannot use some organic products : my skin will say it loudly after a few minutes, with spots and red patches all over (imagine for a date...., because it always happens before a date otherwise it would not been funny....:(
So obviously, I tried everything. I gave up to see a dermatologist : "you should try La Roche Posay products. If it still does not work, come back to me".

PARADOX : "a person or thing that combines contradictory features or qualities." Why ? Because I know lots of women who possess the best hair products, go to the hairdresser regularly and use dry shampoo with butane, isobutane and propane for telling me afterwards "OMG Sixtine, I hate my hair, it is soooooooo dry, I really don't understand"... In my case, I did not even buy the "dry shampoo which dries hair" because of my son. When he saw the logo "extremely flammable" with the red flame, he told me straight away that it was forbidden to use, that I would died otherwise (oups!).
Thank you my son but to be honest I really need a dry shampoo because of my proximity with horses (I wear a hat regularly to ride or play polo) so it is necessary to refresh my hair in no time...

As you can see on my picture below, I ALWAYS wear lipstick (they look old but they are quite new actually...).
You will never, ever see me without.
Even when I went into labor, I put a lovely red before going to the hospital.
Yes, I am like this.

For a brief check list, you have to know that I have uber dry lips. My face is pale, my eyes oyster (yes, but THIS IS the definition for the green-grey colored eyes...).

My lips are so dry, they can lead to an Angular cheilitis so I MUST wear something which will hydrate as well as being nice and colorful on them. (I will do a special cockpit bazaar on very dry lips soon on the blog).
L'oreal, Bourjeois and Rimmel are not good for me at all. They leave a patch of color on my lips which looks absolutely terrible...
I had trouble with Chanel a few years ago as well (yes!). But when I see the new collection ROUGE COCO HYDRATION CONTINUE (Ultra Hydrating Lip Color), I decided to give it a go and hurrah, it worked well...

I will never leave my house without my perfume.
Perfume is essential for me.
I have a "nez", I could have been a composer. 
I have a nice collection from Parfumerie Générale, Anatole Lebreton, Santa Maria Novella, Parfum d'Empire, Aedes de Venustas, etc,... 
I like to change my perfume in accordance with my activities.
Each of them remind me of a special moment : lunch with my family, flying, a coffee with my friends...
And I am lucky to have MINE, made by a nose, especially for me..
It represents my family house : the special note of the waxed centenarians parquet, the odd scent of the tapestries when you walk by and this reassuring and comforting smell of the very, very old house. 
My perfume is a quintessence of this, it's my life.

In my handbags (I love to change them, nearly, every day which drives my daughter crazy : why do you change your handbag all the time maman ???), amongst the little things a women possess, you will always find a hand cleanser gel. I use them ALL THE TIME and my children as well if I am near them...(gotcha...).
And to be honest with you, I have to buy them quite regularly as my friends know that I ALWAYS carry one... (Pas vrai les filles !!!!).

You should know the nature of my hair by now... If not have a look (click here). Very, very dry that's for sure... I think that I have used all the brands available at my hairdresser's. It has been quite difficult to find something very adequate. I do think that I might have found (for now).
Ojon seems very good when you have very dry hair like mine. This brand came from Brazil and the importance of a lovely hair mane over there seems primordial...

My hair is terribly important. I go to the hairdresser every month for trimming. At home, I look after them like the Saint Graal. My hair is curly like Vanessa Paradis (remember) so I need to have special products to counterbalanced the dryness. Therefore, before the shampoo, I use monoi. I am completely addicted to this scent. I have monoi for my shower, for my body, for my hair...I was 4 years old when my aunt, a diplomat, brought me back from Tahiti, a bottle of "Tiki" oil with a macerated Tiare flower inside. The smell was a journey to itself and the mystery of this black flower inside the bottle added to the fascination I would always have for this precious unguent... I love this Klorane oil, "Les Polysianes" because of the special "Monoi morinda" which reminds me the most of the "Tiki" one...
So 2-3 hours before the shampoo, I apply this oil all over my hair like a kind of cataplasm (not too much though, it's oil). And then....

Diagnosis 

I am a brunette. My hair is a mix between Vanessa Paradis and Marie-Antoinette, Queen of France. 

Vanessa for the natural wavy curl and Marie-Antoinette for the grey...

This Root Cover up is a gem!! I own several of this product : one in my car, one in France, once in my bag, one in my cockpit... I would not be able to live without it to be honest. This powder will adhere and cover my grey roots without be sticky, oily or dry in an instant. It is water resistant and will stay 6 days (I did the test). The large mirror is very handy as well. So no more grey roots EVER! It allows me several weeks without going for a proper hair dying at the hairdresser. So it calms my scalp as well as my bank account... 6 colors to choose from.
