SLEEPING BEAUTY, A FAIRYTALE ...

Once upon a time, a Beauty was created
She was the most beautiful of its kind on Earth
The Beauty had wings a shape no one had ever seen,
So She could fly faster than most...

Her voice was like thunder, hypnotic, mesmerizing,
Only over the Sea, she shared her secret
Sailors, have you heard her,
Offering new knowledge about the world ?

People sat and waited for hours to see her, hear her, feel her,
As the ground winced when she passed,
The Beauty cast her spell on everyone she met

But the Beauty was the most advanced for its time as well...
Always higher, she flirted with the Kingdom of Heaven
Beware, Beauty you will burn your wings...

Is it the spindle the beauty displayed as a symbol in front of her which precipitated the curse ?
Her fatal curse...

I have never been, never felt so safe than under her wings
The beauty showed me the curvature of the Earth
The brightness of the blue sky...

I will not try to awaken her, resuscitate her,
I am not able to break the spell...
But Christmas will be here very soon...
And for sure I will see you once more, my dearest Sleeping Beauty...

To be continued...

Many thanks to Brooklands Museum : to the staff, the aviators and  Concorde's flight engineer...
