LA PHOTO DU LUNDI #6 - FROM HERCULES

LA PHOTO DU LUNDI #6
FROM HERCULES...

On the Armée de l'Air website, they were lots of sad pictures since Albecete.
Albacete, La Mancha kingdom of a certain Don Quixote,
Don Quixote, modern knight who wanted to bring justice to the world...

But this picture particularly stole my heart,
This aircraft is called Hercules.
C-130 Hercules to be precise from the giant American manufacturer L.Martin,
This is a four-engine turboprop military transport aircraft,
A sibling to my beloved A-400.

25, 37, 41...

Hercules the Great is "painfully" delivering another kind of Hercules from his open womb :
8 aviators and 1 aviatrix.
One after the other, enveloped by the 3 elements.

35, 30, 26...

Yes, 9 Hercules with their powerful and glorious reputation,
Renowned for their great courage,
Fighting monsters...

29, 25, 27...

What are those numbers for ?
Do they represent their labors ?
No, they don't.
They were the ages of our Hercules...
You cannot hear a picture obviously,
But through the dark and the rain, trough his metal wings,
I am convinced that Hercules the Great is crying with us...

THE TRIBUTE FROM THE INVALIDES IS HERE : CLICK

A nos frères d’Armes,
Morts dans l’exercice de leurs passions,
Qu’ils s’envolent dans la paix vers d’autres cieux…
